Building Planning
NEW BUILDING PLANS (you can get a copy of the report by clicking on the link at the end of this article)
Our June 4, 2012 Congregational meeting was exciting. The Building Planning Committee issued its report and recommendations for constructing new space, to replace the portable classroom currently in the parking lot (big white trailer). The Committee's report has been sent out via e-mail to those who have given us their e-mail address.
If you would like the report sent to you via e-mail please contact the church office at 751-1775 or ask Bill . Hard copies of the report distributed at the Congregational Meeting are available in the church office.
Now we need to hear from the congregation. Please take some time to review the recommendations in the report, as well as the information developed by the Building Planning Committee. Then, seek out a Member of the Council, or talk to Pastor Bell, or email Bill Spitz or Ernie Dinda with any comments, suggestions, or questions you may have. Bill Spitz's email address is jesbilly@yahoo.com. Ernie Dinda's email is edinda1@optonline.net.
At this time, the Committee's report is simply a needs analysis with recommendations. We may go ahead as recommended by the Building Planning Committee, or we may do something different. That's why we need to hear from everyone that has ideas, suggestions, questions, etc. But whatever we decide, we need to move forward.
We have scheduled a special congregational meeting for Monday night, September 24th at 7:30 pm. That night, we hope to decide, as a family, how to go forward with our building program. In the meantime, please have a look at the report and its recommendations, and contribute your ideas.
Click on this link for report, Building Planning Report, there are a few conceptual drawings of the project we are considering. The space could accommodate 9 large classrooms, using dividers, but be large enough for a basketball court, and useable for expanded fellowship events.
Keep in mind that our space needs are real and critical. Even with the white trailer, we need four more classrooms. Crowds at our last major fellowship events were too large for our current classroom area and kitchen. Our Sunday School office is in the furnace room, and our youth room is a small attic space without a window. We are blessed! Our Sunday School enrollment continues to increase, as does our membership!
Please give this your prayerful consideration, please get involved, and please put the September 24th meeting date on your calendar.
